As I've always said EU is USSR without great tanks, steel and oil super-production and beautiful coreographic aesthetics. Plus: it has never won and will never win a real war.
Basically I still prefer USSR. Remakes suck.

Things on the table and new developments:
- Database containing all citizens' assets: the central registry will collect and store a wide range of information on bank accounts, securities, company shares, property registry entries, and valuable assets.
- Chat Control, backdoors for governments to spy on all our communications.
Now this week they have introduced new legislation so that everyone who engages in recreational fishing has to report when they go out and how many fish they catch via an app on their phone.
Certainly in the USSR there were more freedoms, no one prevented you from fishing.

Hopefully it will collapse much faster than USSR.
Aside from evident economic failures of technocratic nazisocialism, to build a real national identity it takes many centuries. There is no such thing as European nationality currently, neither there is a dominant ethno-cultural group (contrary to Russians in USSR)
We have Frenchs, Germans, Poles, Italians, Finns, etc.
Every historical attempt to unify this contintent through violence and coercion ended in abrupt bloody failures. I dont' see how it can play out differently this round.
Especially with the Von Der Lying bitch, where Hitler and Napoleon failed...no way.
