The point is, while each implementation may have bugs of its own, LN as a whole is a brittle and unreliable system unless we define sudden force-closes and stuck/failed payments as a new normal.

Something bad can happen outside of app's control at all times and users won't be able to tell the difference, and will tend to blame an app they use at the moment.

The way I see it, this will lead to apps like WoS being the most loved ones because they will be the most reliable (especially if all TXs are internal and never touch and actual LN).

You are def not wrong. LN is a weird one and a double edged sword. But doomsdaying around a solution that people want does not help.

Lightning works, I use it daily with Mutiny, Phoenix, Breez, Blixt and even Zeus and WoS and most of my normie friends are using WoS for LN.

I tell them they can lose everything in WoS and that they should only have a very small amount in it for coffee/beer or burger daily.

The only danger I see here is WoS shooting themselves at one point out of the industry by stealing/exitscam.

Others still work on more decentralized and stable solutions for daily payments. LN is still the best thing we have and I am here to test, criticize and push.
