The invoice from the LSP is just to open the channel — the expiration only applies to the invoice itself.
If you pay it, the channel opens and stays open.
If not, it just expires. No forced renewal.

They probably set a duration lease preference on the channel... I found this table on the Doc where they show the differences between the Providers...
It looks like you have to renew your lease after expiration
