While what you say is true, we have been farming since before COVID. Localism got people through the worst but the rebound back to old habits has left many reeling from the experience.
Local producers feel used and abused. The inflationary period of the last few years led people back to the "cheaper" chain options.
The momentum behind the PRIME Act is once again officially dead. Fragile, centralized industrial supply chains once again rule. Industrial ag production investments are near all time highs. MAHA is a catchy slogan, but it's not changing anything at the local level and certainly not the soil health.
The system is working exactly as it is intended.
