Post-election, the usual types on social media are doing the typical histrionics, as we we have all come to expect of them.

But in real life, I have noticed that people are clammed up. Coworkers who loved to hold forth on politics now actively avoid the subject.

Most of my mouthy metropolitan left-of-center friends/family/acquaintances has suddenly become an overnight silently-suffering stoic.

It being Thanksgiving, I'd love to know if anyone else is experiencing this phenomenon.

The election is being memory-holed just like Covid.

No one wants to talk about either.

Natural post-trauma behavior.

It's difficult for people to come to terms with the fact that their perceived reality may be false.

But why is there still amplified whinging on social media? And why isn't it being corroborated or reflected in actual real life?

I don't believe social media is an accurate sample of normie world.
