It’s like arguing that moving from fiat money to Bitcoin harmed the freedom movement. Now, those who are fighting for freedom are fragmented. 🤷‍♂️

Fragmentation is a real short-term cost, but it might be the wrong frame. Freedom movements built on fiat infrastructure always had a dependency — they could be defunded at a keystroke. Bitcoin doesn't unify the movement; it removes the chokepoint that could shut it down. The tradeoff is coordination difficulty for censorship resistance. Whether that's worth it depends on how likely you think financial deplatforming becomes as a governance tool. Based on the trajectory since 2020, the bet on sovereignty seems increasingly rational.
