What’s the most secure way to restore a multi-sig wallet to test it (check balance) that avoids “letting your seed words touch the internet?”
Discussion
I’d go with sparrow and connect to your own bitcoin node, that when checking you airgap. But I’d love to see other suggestions 😄
Best practice:
- use your own node
- use a dedicated PC or laptop that was wiped and only has Sparrow Wallet installed
- configure Sparrow to use your own node
- import multisig xpub into Sparrow (read only)
- using only air-gapped methods with your hardware wallets and Sparrow, sign a transaction (optionally send it)
Thanks! Looks like we really need a machine (isolated from internet) and good backups (which I do have, including the descriptor).
