Is this why ZEUS recently closed my channel? Had a good amount of sats on both sides, that channel could have lasted a very long time but I woke up one day and it was closed...
Now I have to pay to open another one?
We've increased the max channel lease duration for our LSP from 6 to 12 months.

It wasn't a paid channel, it was the channel that was opened in response to my first (very large) incoming payment.
0-conf chans have a lease duration of 3 months. Good breakdown of the different chans you can have with us here: https://docs.zeusln.app/lsp/channel-differences/
