This doesn't get nearly as much attention as it deserves. You wouldn't dream of having a brokerage account without a beneficiary named, and unfortunately, dying doesn't always happen on the schedule you'd prefer. Multisig helps hugely to provide methods for handling this without a need for trusted parties (such as bank deposit boxes), but all the tech in the world only can work if you bother to use it.
