I hope you feel better soon J!

Personally I'm very optimistic about the future. I see most people are good, and want the good. We all wants to live by each others happiness and wellbeing.

Something that helped me to worry less is reading only good (scientific) news, however ignorant that may sound.

Your note also reminds me of what Dalio wrote about the cycle of internal order: at the end of these cycles when things get too bad, citizens usually revolt and take control, as has happened many times in history.

All this is true and what worries me. People don’t bother doing anything until it’s seriously bad. And at that point, it’s seriously bad. No one wants to have to go through that do they? I certainly don’t want that for my kids.

I get your point.

It might seem bad now from your point of reference. Your kids will grow up used to a certain state of things and experience a worsening state from their perspective, which might not be as bad as you experience it.

For example I see this in my classmates who are 21-23 yo. Their form of online communication is snapchat and tiktok. They can not concentrate for more than a minute. They can not have a conversation without changing the subject every sentence, like these fast paced tiktok videos.

While I think to myself: 'these people are ruined', they don't know any better.

It'll make your kids stronger and wiser
