They've erased the footage because the Olympics are an absolute behemoth of a money making machine completely and purely based on "copy rights". They've always done it, and it has nothing to do with the content of the ceremony.

Which, if it had any sort of conspiratorial intent, wouldn't be erased from the public view, but on the contrary promoted for free everywhere, all the time.
