Today I visited my dad. He's 74, old school, and doesn't like that I work remotely for a company that pays with Bitcoin (he thinks I should get a real job). ๐
He had the TV news on in the background and there were multiple scenes of money printing flashing across the screen. I mentioned Bitcoin and he tells me my step mum buys Bitcoin. My eyes lit up (I was extremely surprised and didn't expect it at all). ๐คฉ
She's Russian and apparently has been sending bitcoin to her family in Russia for a long time (her parents who must be at least in their 70s or 80s). She had only been using it as a way to send money - until now. I started talking to her about some of the reasons I like Bitcoin. I saw her eyes light up. I think she understood. Hopefully she is going to start stacking too. ๐ค๐งก
Anyway. I feel like that was an achievement. I could feel the tense energy of my dad as I'm telling his wife all about bitcoin. As much as he was trying to ignore what I was saying, I'm about 85% sure a lot of what I said made sense to him - he's pretty smart. Maybe, just maybe, he will also start looking into bitcoin. ๐ค

I was really surprised. Probably like the least expected conversation at dads house ever ๐
