A tragedy. There is no excuse or justification. What happened is awful and the devastation is irreparable.
Forgiveness enables victims to regain autonomy over themselves and the situation. Revenge perpetuates destructive choices and unintended consequences while forgiveness yields wisdom, growth, and change.
I heard the "slogan" for the first time after the bombing if civilians in the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999. The victims coined this phrase by themselfes (Yugoslavians, Serbs). In this context it is more a question if not bowing down and the long term ethnic survival.
