I believe the bible was written by men that didn't know what the sun was.
I believe there are passages in that book that are a abhorrent that outweigh any good passage that if you followed them today you would be in prison.
I believe tradition is peer pressure from dead people that some are slaves to.
I must give you credit for recognizing that these positions are your beliefs, which you are obviously free to hold.
I actually believed as you did most of my life, but in my 30s made the "mistake" of reading this book. Ends up that context matters. It's a story that is progressing from one rule, to no rules, to 1000s of rules and instant justice to 'do as you will' under all conditions. The endgame being that there won't be any "but ifs" at the end regarding actual human character vs His desire for ure character. IE there is relational behavior that is compatible with living forever and behavior that isnt.
We can likely at least agree to stay humble and stack sats ^^
