Damus will be removed from the app store in 14 days, apple says zaps are not allowed on their platform because they *could* be used by content creators to sell digital content. This is right before I’m about to give my talk at the oslo freedom forum on how decentralized social networks with lightning integration are bringing financial freedom to the masses... pretty sus… 😕

This would be a watershed moment: If people can’t transact freely p2p on their platform, this has huge implications for the entire ecosystem of apps with lightning integration and v4v.

This was always going to happen. Building an iOS was/is a mistake. The full stack needs to be foss, as far as possible. All bitcoiners should be using Degoogled Android on the phone and Linux on the desktop. We can't compromise even a little. Purge Apple from your life. Stop building in the Apple walled garden. Apple is the enemy. Don't try to play nice with the enemy.

I understand your POV, but having realized an iOS version gave MANY users an entry point to this new ecosystem.

it’s always the trade-off, if you go too hardcore, you lose a chunk of non-tech people.

Now it is backfiring but I don’t see other clients like Iris, astral ninja etc…being affected.

It sucks for jb55 though.
