Question for people involved in writing.

My wife wants to write a series of childrens books based on her fathers stories. Her father is a wonderful story teller and illustrator (he will illustrate the books) but not so good at writing, my wife is a very good writer.

If it comes to fruition, what would you consider a fair split on profits from this project? Obviously he is the creative source but my wife is the driving force and is doing all the grunt work. She seems to think she should get a very small % due to love for her father (kind of fair enough, very noble and ultimately her choice) but I think she deserves a fair share due to the fact this would never happen without her driving force, and there will be a lot of work involved on her part, it is afterall a collaboration. I think at least 25% for herself would be reasonable, but I know nothing about the publishing industry.

Curious to see if anyone here has an opinion or any experience. What do you think? Is 25% too much or too little? She will effectively be writer/manager/publicist her dad will be illustrator/creative director
