I just got my ACL replaced two days ago and it's definitely not comfortable or joyful recovering from the surgery. But it's the perfect example of taking on some short term pain to open back a lifetime of opportunities.

Most people don't realize that being comfortable with discomfort is the first step to success.

My uncle expressed the same sentiment about his hip replacement recently. “The most painful and rewarding experience I’ve gone through.”
