Let's not. It is the root of the rot in our whole world at the moment.

Wait… What?

The Renaissance started the movement away from church into an age of pure reason, and reason unrestrained by morals leads to all the ills you see in the world today. Greed coupled with technological advancements is the formula that has always been followed, but, there usually were several restraints placed on both until relatively recently when industrialization allowed for a very few to start negatively influencing more and more people, which you can see in the current state of centralized government, food, "medicine," "education," etc.

I'm not saying that everything was bad or even is bad. But, the tools are in the hands of very, very evil people, and the rest of us are learning too little, too late about the driving forces in this mad dash to hell.

They won't win in the end, though. That's my belief. But it more than a little sucks for now.
