Tip: ring a hand-bell every time you feed your pets so that if they run away, you can hail them back quickly. I've seen this work with cats multiple times in my life. Valuable.

Yeah my parents used a scissors, made "chop chop chop" sound and my cats would come running from a mile away 😂

Bells travel a bit further, but anything loud and distinct can be used to develop a pavolian response.
