The Hilux is considered the cheap version of the LandCruiser here.

Yeah - that's what I meant by them being basically the same car. I've never seen a Tacoma though so couldn't say that they're the same.
Cruisers are Toyota's. Basically the same engine but they're in a bigger chassis & look cool.
