A pedantic take on a legitimate concern, nostr has become the bitcoiners gab. At some point you have heard every praxelogical exploration into monetary theory, every entrepreneurial interest into bitcoin mining as energy investment, every conservative intrigue into sound moneys affect on culture.
I get it, I understand it, I agree with it, all of it. Its fucking boring now, I don't need another goddamn podcast or meme about time preference and subjective value theory. There is at best zero culture being built in these spaces, I say "at best" because at worst its a culture of people spamming AI generated art and yass queening about stacking sats.
What a waste of time asking real questions it is, I really have no true sovereignty in bitcoin because bridging the gap in technical knowledge is wildly undersold. How am I supposed to know if what I'm installing on my node is safe, how to harden it, what I can do to trust it with any serious amount of bitcoin. What can I do with bitcoin? A lot, if you grew up integrating workflows on github I guess; to the average person we really are consigned to buy whatever hardware wallet influencers say, to store our bitcoin from whatever centralized website influencers say.
Any content would be better than this, people helping each other understand taproot, people playing music, people posting 9/11 memes. There has to be some form of INTERESTING culture created here unless you just want to cede users back to centralized shitholes.
I agree, excited to see nostr used for other communities and topics. The vibe here is much better though.
