Depending on what you're into, here are a few I'd recommend:

Why Nations Fail - lots of history on what has made different civilisations succeed and fail.

The Sovereign Individual - transitioning from different societal stages (hunter & gathering, agriculture, industrial, information), and how each stage moves faster than the last. They foresee digital currencies and the collapse of nation states.

Softwar - military history, power projection theory and the kinetic power of Bitcoin mining.

The Deficit Myth - if you're interested in learning Modern Monetary Theory and how the government views spending.

Starship Troopers - a fictional story with themes revolving around the role of citizens, responsibility and government.
