How ready for mass adoption is Bitcoin's infrastructure? People just expect things to be plug n play. Why would those who are accustomed to Cash App give a shit about self-custodying internet money they can easily lose and probably never retrieve, especially if they don't understand how their money losing purchasing power affects them?

Maybe the answer isn't to meet them where they aren't curious. Most people aren't all that intellectual anyway, not as a matter of practicality. And Bitcoin isn't the most useful as an intellectual exercise anyway, it's as transactional money. Although my intrigue has risen since I started learning about how payment rails/systems work (thanks to learning about Bitcoin), I generally couldn't care less how Visa's rails work. But I use their rails every time I take a trip down to the store to get something. By the same token most people won't give a shit how lightning works either. Or whatever else gets widely adopted if not lightning.

It’s not ready at all for 8 billion people. Atm apparently mathematically lightning can only manage 500 million at most atm.
