Can apps (as opposed to browser extensions) function as key signers for web-based nostr apps?

I don’t think so but I hope I’m wrong. Definitely would be very useful for me.

Which app on your phone would you want to do that job for you?

For me, i use Damus but if i want to check out another client like Iris, snort ect - i need to use my MacBook and Alby extension.

Same - damus as main thang and lots of side pieces on the web 🤷‍♂️

I want an app that can open modally the way apple/Google pay does

#[2]

Nostore can, but it's Safari only.

Is it technically possible for iOS and Android apps to hold nsec keys and sign into nostr web apps with them?

Would be dope to sign in with my Damus app using QR codes on my computer

Sign into damus via qr or use damus to sign into other things?

Use Damus to sign into other things

Technically easy enough to do any of this via QR code. Just need clients to support it.

Here's the experimental branch I built on top of #[4]

Whoops, screwed up the tag. You know it's #[5] !!

NIP-46 addresses this, but it hasn’t been merged

My hope is to get broad #nip26 support and just have a disposable key "hot" in the Nostr cilent that has limited authorization to sign on my behalf.
