0xchat just recently implemented a Cashu wallet into their chat app which means that you can send ecash to your contacts. You top off the wallet with Lightning just with any other Cashu wallet. I'm very impressed by the UX and the UI design. Amazing work!

Can't the person running the relay know who is talking to whom and how often?

Are the messages e2ee?

Is there a default mint? If so, it's custodial, very ruggable no?

We use gift-wrapped DM, which can help prevent metadata leaks. And yes the mint is custodial, but you can add your own mint.
