“Lessons in Chemistry” was so good. Two genius lovers with the most sordid tragic back stories. It’s controversial.

Her dad was a preacher. He was an orphan at a Catholic Boys Home. Both the preacher and Bishop at the Boys Home were absolutely *horrible* human beings. Even to this day I can’t decide which one is worst. And as a result, both characters become staunch atheists. Naturally, some Christians took offense to that, as well as the negative portrayal of Christianity. On the flip side, all of the scientists were equally *horrible* too. Later, both characters go on to befriend a much different Bishop and bridge an understanding of trust, friendship and mutual respect.⚛️🫂❤️
