I'm using Primal, and it seems I can't delete my posts.. Is it a current limitation of Primal or #nostr ? #asknostr
Discussion
You can’t delete notes on nostr bc it’s not just 1 server you’d have to delete the content from, it’s many, not just the relays you’ve picked on ur client but also any others that have broadcasted the note. There are some apps that will let you request to “delete” but again it’s up to the relays discretion whether to follow thru with that or not :)
It's kind of a meme, but it's also fairly accurate. You can't really delete on nostr. Some clients support deletion. Some relays support deletion. If the entirety of the ecosystem doesn't support it then it's not real.

In short you are saying that #nostr is like the internet, once you post something, and delete it, it is not 100% sure it is deleted.
In the example of X (used in nostr:npub1kuy0wwf0tzzqvgfv8zpw0vaupkds3430jhapwrgfjyn7ecnhpe0qj9kdj8 video), third parties using page scrapping or the API, may keep a copy of the tweet, even if it is removed from X.
A better label for the button would be then "Send Delete Request", with a warning text that some relays may not do it. (just like for posting by the way, a relay could debies the post).
Do I understand correctly ?
