I'm looking to buy one to start a business that is already labor intensive enough that basically this piece of machinery is the only thing that makes it viable.

seems to me like that grinder is probably very expensive and very prone to wearing out, maybe better if you can find a machine that can handle smaller stuff and another machine that breaks it down a bit before it gets there

also, does it have to be portable like that?

The grinders teeth are replaceable because, yes they do wear down.

It's easy to get a machine to handle smaller stuff, but not in bulk, which is what is needed. The use case is that there are hundreds or thousands of acres that boomers have left unmaintained around me so they're full of invasive species. I want to offer them a "free" service to "clean up" these forests in exchange for 5-10 years of grazing leases on those acres. The forestry mulching is a loss leader, the wood chips will be gasified on site for mining bitcoin and then selling the biochar.

If you assume leases are $50/acre, and the equipment costs $500k and you get 10year leases, the equipment pays for itself after 1000 acres enrolled (I'm in my first year of this and already lease 160 acres). On 1000 acres, you can run 15000 sheep, but the real ideal setup would be to run the sheep, then forestry Mulch, the. have a massive sounder of pigs to follow behind the forestry mulcher.

If you can get even longer term leases like 30 years, incorporating swale building and tree planting then you have a solution that gets boomers what they want (money in retirement for no work) and initial community building for #citadel and #meshtadel

Think of it like this, I'm trying to mimic the impact of elephants on the land by knocking down and mulching these trees and brush. I'm harvesting the Mulch because I can speed up the typical composting process of just a fallen tree on the ground and turn it into biochar, mimicking a fire). Ideally I would just put the biochar back on that same ground, but that would only make economic sense if I owned it or again got those 30 year leases.
