Iceland has a lot of renewable energy, they have traditionally exported that energy in the form of smelted aluminium , but if they had any sense they would be mining Bitcoin and exporting that instead .

Waste of energy: in other words , it is effective and it's upset the bankers etc ... boo hoo .
Also people don’t understand that electricity can’t be saved. Extra electricity produced by plants actually harm the grid. Activities such as Earth zone Hour are totally science denying and stupid. The key problem is not saving energy, it’s producing energy without harming the environment.
I actually wonder if traditional bank system such as swift uses less energy when verifying a transaction. I do believe energy saving is important, but I also believe that quantitative easing is evil.
