Australia has a population density of 3 per square kilometre (Canada has 4 per sq km) and we’ve got a very similar housing crisis happening now.
Rental vacancies at 1.1% and government now doing ‘tiny houses’ and making insane policies about future builds (my state wants to add 800k homes in 10 years off a base of 2.2M).
Our government is protecting the RE bubble because we haven’t had a recession for 40 years and millions will have their entire wealth evaporated if they lose the market. They’ve gone from printing money to printing visas to keep demand insanely high
What are people doing about it?
