i use the navigator when i'm in new areas for the first few times but once i know an area, if where i'm going is nearby where i know, i don't even look at it until i'm where i noted that i need to stop and locate myself.

it's definitely true that navigation is probably one of the most compelling features of mobile devices. but their constant chatter with the network that has nothing to do with its compelling features is... fishy.
