Every OS Apple makes is currently a complete jittery glitchy cluster fucking mess. These woke incompetent fucks are going to drive me off the best hardware available just because they can’t unfuck their software. And before you know it, they will no longer have the best hardware either.

The integrated system is the value proposition. But if everything up to and including typing stops working, that integration becomes a weakness because it all breaks together.

You sound like me when Apple moved on from 10.6. I miss Snow Leopard, that shit was perfect. Now I just use Linux.

I use Linux every day too but I use it via iTerm consoles and ssh from my Macs so I don’t have to deal with desktop Linux for all things graphical. I live in tmux+Neovim on Linux.

But I can definitely see a day coming where I have to switch back to desktop Linux. I’m not looking forward to that either, tbh.

I need to upgrade hardware soon. Linux adds another layer of complexity to that, NGL.

Are you on beta? I’ve only had issues since using beta because they redid the keyboard.

No, I avoid their betas like the plague. Ever since Ventura shipped, macOS has gotten progressively worse. And I’m running it on a fairly high end Mac Studio. I have to reboot the damn thing every couple days just to get it to behave at all now. I used to only reboot after system updates before Ventura.

iOS has started to become almost as unstable. Not quite as bad, but I have to reboot it to get it to behave much more frequently too. And I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Wild. I’m on Sonoma beta, haven’t rebooted since installation. iOS 17 Dev beta. Same. SimpleX doesn’t work now, but it’s shit and has never worked right.

iMac on Ventura hasn’t been rebooted in a month.

I wonder if it’s the M chips. I’m still on Intel.
