We're under a thunderstorm watch again, and the texas sage bushes are agreeing. They say that texas sage blooms before or after rain. Also, on my morning walk i came across this pretty coral snake. Even though its venomous, they are not known to bite humans much, i think because their head/mouth are so small, plus they are just not aggressive. #nature #snakes #hiking #countrylife

That sage is huge! Do they bear leaves year-round?

In our area, they usually lose some leaves in winter, but not completely. I love them.

"red touches yellow. dangerous fellow

red touches black, he's OK, Jack!"

I still remember that from primary school field trips to the zoo.

The one i learned is "Red on yellow, kill a fellow, red on black, friend of Jack".

I learned. “Red and Yellow, kill a fellow; Red and Black, venom lack”

I came across one of the lookalikes on a hike the other week and had to say the rhyme in my head haha

How did things go your way? Lots of fallen branches and trees.

Very strong winds, we had two large trres fall over into the road about half a mile from us. We still have no power since about 4 pm.

Whoa! We lost power for a few minutes. But everything is back. Stay safe.

Yeah, it got pretty scary. We've got our little emergency lanterns on in the house, and went ahead and plugged the freezers into the generators. Luckily its not 110 degrees.

City had heavy winds last night. Mayor told everyone to stay home.

Wow, i heard houston got it pretty hard too. Crazy weather.

why are they called coral snakes??

Not sure why, i just think they are pretty.
