Telegram is testing account rating

🔵 Telegram is once again drawing nostalgia from VK: a new profile rating was found in the code, which will increase for every 1000 stars bought, gifted, or spent.

🔵 For what purpose? It seems to be to remove limits on collectible gifts and possibly offer perks like discounts on Premium. It shouldn't affect the main functionality — but who knows.

🔵 In early VK, there was a similar story: rating for activity, leaderboards, privileges, and then — boost exchanges, bots, and mass leaks. Now it's clear: this mechanism will be manipulated in Telegram as well. The higher the rating, the more trust, and therefore, the greater the temptation to boost.

🔵 If the test succeeds, the rating will also be added to channels: more stars — higher status.
