You can tell a lot about a person's personality, I think, by asking if he instinctively sides with the pursued or the pursuer. The fact that most of us just viscerally want him to get away, while knowing nothing of the circumstances of the chase, has something to do, I suspect, with our deep evolutionary past -- during most of which we were the hunted, not the hunters.
