Can someone educate me? I am trying to understand why we can’t delete our own post on Nostr. If we see that a post needs to be deleted?
Is there a benefit for things to be permanent for all time?
Some clients (Amethyst) choose to support that deletion nip, some do not based on philosophy

It is ultimately up to the relays whether or not they want to delete the event, they don't have to respect your deletion request. So you are never sure whether your event is deleted or not.
