I'm trying to build up the gumption to watch the musical Star Trek episode. I hate the whole idea. I hate that I will certainly like it. But, even if I do, I will debate anyone who says it belongs in the Star Trek universe.

Of course actors and theater majors will argue for a musical number. I was a theater major. I get it. But my rule is firm. In science fiction, if they start dancing, you've done something wrong.

Yeah. So. Watched that. Some of the cast are very gifted singers and it was clear they were having a blast.

Let me not humbug it for anyone.

But now there've loosed the whole subspace musical theater anomaly into canon. It will surely resurface as the IP train rolls on into the future. That doesn't come out with seltzer water!

Let's hope that next time that musical anomaly surfaces is as good (IMO) as this one. I've watched the episode 3 times at the moment and I like it more with every re-watch. The galaxy needs more K-Pop… And what a way to end a relationship! >=)
