i'm sure most of it is that as well. there is no righteous leaders in the world anymore. but normie society is basically babylon at this point. so i think that cloistering away from babylon is probably the first reason, second is to find real women, third is for communion with God.
in the modern situation, the church is practically like a monastery was for people 200 years ago and earlier. a retreat.
i mean, just speaking from my perspective, i had a conversion in Rome back in late 2015, after someone randomly gave me Phillippians 4:6-7. i spent the next 2 months in constant communion, praying all day long as i journeyed northeast eventually landing back in Bulgaria. so i don't see the church as primarily a path to a relationship with God, i think that is driven by need and requires nothing but a few key instructions and practice. this is the main reason also why i am not so interested in catholic christianity, because one of its central doctrines is that you must find it through a priest. i find that kinda offensive.
it's too much for me even with the prospect of a proper women at the end of it, i'll stay here and pray in my cell and commune with His creation.
i guess i'm just not cut out for coping with babylon world, i can't be in that world. i fail i guess.
