Anyone who understood Bitcoin back then was doing whatever it took to get their hands on it. People had hundreds of GPUs mining in their garages. There was a guy running a drop ship company at cost just to convert USD to BTC. It's also why there were so many rug pulls and hacks. MyBitcoin.com was a full-blown web wallet that spent years developing a product and gaining trust, only to suddenly dissapear with the BTC. Crazy times.
