One of our properties has a small pond behind the yard shared by several homes around it. The wildest things we seen is herons, geese, mallards, and deer.
The most violent thing we ever saw was a grey heron beat, drown and carry a ground squirrel...
That in itself was creepy to look at!!
Oh dear. That part of life is not my favorite. Cycle of life, and herons have to eat but…

we were like... hmmm that could have been one for ntl geographic...
meanwhile, I was like... I don't want to record it, like why? I didn't enjoy watching it the first time!
