If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it still make a sound? Just because we aren't concious of something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Humans have a very narrow focus.

Yes, limited. And all this so that being can experience itself. Sound, consciousness, the woods, and the imagined self are one and the same.
