What if that person is a no coiner and for the first time they can get sats and zap in 1 minute?
Discussion
My very first purchase to a lightning wallet was moonpay. It was easy, and didn't involve nearly as much of a loss.
I agree that onboarding to getting Bitcoin needs to be easier for the masses, but this seems almost predatory. They only get 60% of their value!
Ryan, understand your prespective. But no one is going to lose their house for $0.99 purchase and only get 60% of the value. Please donβt scare people.
Not trying to scare anyone, sorry, I shouldn't have used predatory there. Just trying to understand the difference in value.
It might be an opportunity for your client to advertise other ways of obtaining sats that would be better for their pocketbook, in the case they want to make larger purchases.
Good point, noted.
Hey, I apologize for my earlier notes. Just read this article
https://www.nobsbitcoin.com/how-current-app-got-to-keep-its-zaps-on-the-apples-app-store/
This quote in particular,
"The goal is to create an In App purchase option to load SATS into the wallet. But make it optional so that none of us will need to use that option. However it can be of use for a no coiner coming into Nostr and Bitcoin for the first time and experience zapping, they can simply purchase it for $1 and get SATS on to their wallet and start zapping immediately."
That put it all together. It's just there so you can have zaps really, and just a $1 IAP, not a way a person would be getting large amounts. I jumped to conclusions about the feature without looking into it.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. Keep building cool stuff! π«
Thanks Ryan! π Different paths, same mission: growing the #nostr community. We're in this together! πͺ
