Issue with this is the fact that when Apple DID manufacture everything in America (per Steve Jobs' mandate in the early 80s and mid-to-late 90s), their products were actually CHEAPER than the competition while being better in both performance and quality.

We have Tim Cook to "thank" for the gookification of Apple's manufacturing process, and Nixon to thank for the overall shift.

Note that whether Nixon knew it or not, the American bureaucracies reasoning for embracing China was to make them dependent on the global economy. Long term goal was/ is to crash the Chinese economy and bring about democratic change.
