Are you taking it from someone else if they never own it? Primal was nice enough to point primal.net/patrick at my npub but that doesn't mean I own that address. It just means the person that does own it is nice enough to point it to my data but because today they do doesn't mean that they have to forever.
While this is true, I’d like to think that there’s some ethics regarding data preservation, access, and ownership that are being upheld in the facilitator / user relationship. I’m not too interested in supporting anyone or anything that can’t / won’t follow (what I consider to be) a basic ethical guideline regarding legacy internet data 🤷🏻♀️.
