I keep waiting for #bitcoin's "then they fight you" stage but I the incentives are so aligned that we might just skip it

We can only hope. It would be great if everyone just slowly migrated over and the fiat system died with a pathetic whimper. There are a lot of stupid people though and many with a lot invested in the fiat system so it’s probably wise to prepare for a few skirmishes.
