People say there just aren't enough topics on nostr and that's why they go back to twitter.
I think that's because there are only a few topics that matter (money, food, health, and land) and everything else is a shitcoin, fiat-based ponzi.

Family. π
You can talk about three things:
People, events, and ideas.
People = gossip
Events = news
Ideas = things that actually matter.
A lot of Twitter content is stealth-advertisers. Influencer with some comedic schtick who are using products given to them to make videos with. Essentially human billboards.
Nostr doesnβt need to be the place for entertainment imo. The people that choose Nostr choose it because itβs properties. These people are more principled (generally). They donβt choose it because theyβre looking for that little dopamine hit. Let the addicts fester on Twitter. Let the builders build on Nostr. π€·ββοΈ
Once the builders achieve critical mass, the advertisers will be forced to bring the smooth-brained masses to here too, donβt worry.
Word!..πππ§‘π€ π½
97% of people online are consuming, not creating. they just want to scroll through some useless shit to occupy time. the drama the algo spews up for them is entertaining
also, nostr can be bit lonely. does sometimes feel like a bit of small clique, and its obvious when youre not part of it.
at least in twitter you can be comfortable knowing you're a nobody along with most others
Although the conversational spectrum can be narrow from platform shillers even in its validity and necessity even I like that content is not funneled through filters here like you always get the same predictable type of content and in that I often enjoy the content that is not just crypto as also the pressures to produce content related to algorithmic pandering can get weary and tiresome sometimes which gives the whimsical nature of content on NOSTR an air of authenticity whilst being interesting in its own merits and also as an assurance of the qualities that comes naturally with humans and being human.
You forgot power tools
And guns
People moss the rage, the "enemy", the drama. Dunking on "the libs" etc. It makes us feel alive. People on Nostr are far too based/sensible so there is nobody to rage at here. I actually consider that a feature. I used to enjoy Twitter back when you could curate your own experience. It was Twitter pushing the engagement crap into my timeline which alcausede to quit even before I found Nostr. But I do admit to peeking over there now and again at the latest Nic Carter meltdown or Balaji hyperbole for example.

But you can only look at so many steak pix. I agree, this app is rather boring. But far fewer asshats, so it is better overall.
