Maybe the powers that be realize they’re losing control of the fiat system and are quietly hoping that bitcoin succeeds. The alternative is them eventually being confronted by the largest angry mob the world has ever seen.
Discussion
The incentives of bitcoin are aligned with individual users. Even individuals in the highest offices have a need for a censorship resistant store of value.
As I wrap the evening…..a mentor of mine wordsmithed a chat regarding the difference between the life long bureaucrat and an honest hard working pleb…..
“There exists a critical difference between one who understands the rubric, and one who comprehends the model.
The former pass exams. The latter change the world.”
agree. jimmy song talked about this at one point citing japan as an example of a late stage fiat nation thats been relatively open to bitcoin.
Some do but many are still in denial
😂
Hope for the best, plan for the worst
I think most of the powers that be operate on a time preference too high to give much value to bitcoin adoption
Maybes are as useful as ifs and shoulds. Hard work and humble stacking wins.
#Bitcoin makes hard work make sense again.
you need to keep in mind that the psychopaths in control only care about power. They would see the world burn and not lose a minute of sleep to keep power. And control of the money is the ultimate power.
This is exactly what's happening. America's gov is sophisticated enough to know it needs the market to feed off of.
You think too highly of them.
I think they're quietly just hoping it doesn't all collapse on their watch.
Like a game of political pass the parcel only the prize is fire & pitchforks.
Agreed.
Good engineers are incredibly downstream oriented. They are the first to realize when the system they are working on is heading down a dangerous path.
This is why I think the best engineers and programmers already are, or will become increasingly aware of the dangers of central planning, and as a result will converge with bitcoin and decentralization.
Atlas Shrugged among engineers: 'mysterious' flaws and vulnerabilities in vital systems will multiply like wildfire, as the insightful system architects are realizing they are contributing to a totalitarian system without error-correction.
Every programmer is bound to realize that a system without functions for error-correction is a catastrophy waiting to explode. Add then dependencies upon central chokepoints of control. Dependencies upon dependencies. The outcome becomes clear and the remedy even clearer: decentralization of power.
they are focused on how to get the most money through corruption as quick as possible. They don't have time to think about that kind of things
I’m not sure they have that level of humility or self awareness. They seem to be deceived by delusions of grandeur. But I pray you are correct
They’d prefer a CBDC
