Are Mastodon polls anonymous and private?

Let's clear it up:

1. When you vote on a poll, your instance knows your vote: your account and what your vote was.

2. If the poll is run by someone on a separate instance, that instance knows your vote.

3. The person who created the poll does not know individual votes - only the tallies.

4. Other participants and spectators can only retrieve the tallies.

TL;DR: instance admins can see votes if they know where to look.
