That's why it's kept to just 5 people. We can increase the number to require more consensus before triggering anything. Or we can use lists. Anyway, there are definitely ways to do this better.

I trust we’ll find the idea solution in time 🙏 I know everyone only wants what’s best 🫂

Seems like a simple “moderation” settings menu with these parameters would solve 90% of the problem. Maybe it’s just the one parameter for now, but it’s easy to envision a modular set of moderation parameters that the user can optimize

Yeah maybe opt in to function, customize how many people you want to filter for you, and or how long you’ve followed them for or their overall connections to other people you follow (web of trust score).

Yeah, another good one that secure Scuttlebutt used was “hops” basically just how many follows away someone can be for them to still show up. I’m surprised I don’t see the option yet in Nos

I personally prefer a small list of very different, but easy to understand filters as opposed to a score just for the sake of transparency. The web of trust score is interesting, but it can’t be black box or there will continue to be user pushback (I would think)

I imagine there are probably more than 5 people who would like to report and block #[4] at this point.

#[7] , here’s you quote of

the day

Let's hope they can do more than just reporting.

I'm a little scared, we're gonna shadowban you just because we want to.

I want to know how it works. It really looks like a pretty dumb filter. The guy took shadowban for five complaints and you have 150 complains and still haven't taken shadoban?

What do you need to get you to take shadowban, get more people to report it, or have your profiles protected?

Twitter censorship is also here

Meanwhile, the cybercat continues to flood and spam multiple accounts in the global chat room.

Or the optmism user sending spam.

And the guy took shadownban over five complaints.

What's the punishment for making false statements?

There is no punishment in nostr. Relays are not really doing any filtering. It’s all happening client-side. Amethyst will hide a user if 5 of the people you follow have reported them. Other clients don’t do this so you can just use a different client. There is no problem here.
