if nostr is primarily used for consuming posts from big producers, then any level of decentralization in the network won't matter because we haven't decentralized the flow of information

Small, decentralized flows of information are most relevant for small, local communities.

Large, bulk information flow (like the stuff shared on nostr:npub10uthwp4ddc9w5adfuv69m8la4enkwma07fymuetmt93htcww6wgs55xdlq for example) can be done efficiently through large, central channels.

Good to have the flexibility for both … network effects are critical for smaller information flows.

agree, large distribution networks like YouTube still work for that

Good thing I don't care about most "big" people. 😁

I love my pleb feed.

based!

Yup.

It took a while, but... My social feed is great! And I'm really excited for the other stuff in the works.

what kind of other stuff are you looking forward to the most?

information is only as decentralized as its sources; people can only follow so many accounts

that's where I think there is opportunity for algorithms. most people will only follow a few hundred accounts, but a good algorithm could pull in posts from thousands of accounts and turn down the volume on bigger producers

Thats not exactly true bc you can broadcast other people's notes. Information, is inherently centralized to start. If I tell you a secret, only 2 people know the secret.
